The aethersprite thing is interesting that they split them into separate "ships", the nantex gets nerfed once again, and the variance in upgrade slots is gonna suck for how we display them. NO POINTS FOR EPIC ):< (unless i just missed them)
I THINK i like the idea of separating ship points and upgrade points. i'll have to play and see.
I'd say separate the two values in the template if that's not too much work.
Now off to read the full extent of the changes.
I'd be interested in doing something like a wing of dirk and two wrens. that feels pretty nice in my head. or really any of the three for wing leader but I like dirk's ability. reposition focus is common for a fang and when you do you can get a free lock for double modded shots. I3 isn't great but I feel if they made him any higher the ability might get overpowered.
Apparently clone z-95s are in the same boat as the rogues but without an image.
Someone in my local facebook group shared this. not sure where it came from.
That kanan could be fun to throw a few a-wings in with phoenix squadron so if they do focus on him they can take some of the heat off since he only needs the 1 damage to get up to 3 force back.
There. If the "variable-cost upgrades" category was up to date then everything should be done with the new points.
One interesting thing i noticed was now the i3 vultures are the same cost as i1 which might make the trade federation drones obsolete? i guess maybe you can bring them as blockers but i think the benefits outweigh the downside of maybe getting blocked to upgrade to the 3s
I've update the points templates for the upgrades. Variable cost ones still need to be updated on the actual pages though and some (heroic and hate for example) stopped being variable cost so that'll need to be changed on their pages too.
Nice. I'm waiting on mine from my FLGS. hopefully they'll have them tomorrow or saturday.
Now off to see what they did with the points
Ooo grappling/landing struts are free along with repulosrlifts. and hate is back to a flat cost! nice!
I know its just a silly homebrew idea but I will play the killjoy and point out that dice rolled for attack/defense are hard capped at 6.
a. Roll Attack Dice: The attacking player determines the number of attack dice to roll. Starting with the attack value, modifiers that increase or decrease the number of attack dice (such as range bonus and other effects) are applied. Next, if any minimum or maximum number of dice has been set, that limit is applied. There is always a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 6. Then they roll that many dice.
Other effects can add results after the initial roll to have more than 6 results but as for attack value there is no point in having it be more than 6.
Actually now that i think of it i guess there is a very fringe benefit to it. if you have both weapons failure crits on you you'd still roll 6 dice with an attack value of 8.
This was on a facebook group. not sure where they got it but it looks like there'll be different mando remotes for various factions.
It might come with a config à la pivot wing since the lady was definitely indicating the model would articulate like it does to land
Whether that will just be for aesthetics like the striker or if it'll have a gameplay element (upgrade card) tie to it we'll have to see.
So, haven't read all y'alls thoughts yet but here are mine on the things i feel the most on lol.
I'm VERY excited for the gauntlet and the fact that it's going to be a 5 faction ship is crazy and i love it. also rebel fang fighters? yes please. Not super thrilled about the razor crest in general but its a great model and i'm sure i'll get one anyway. the child's downside seems to me to WAY outweigh its upside. giving two ships free locks on you in exchange for 2 non recurring force with a worse version of hate (only get one back regardless of how much damage you took) seems not very good.
I kind of like the idea of quick builds with assigned points so you can mix an match customized ships with quick-built ones. i also am excited to see more focus on scenario play just to mix it up a bit. they also mentioned they're working on developing a campaign expansion which sounds like HotAC which i'm very hyped about.
Random initiative eliminating bids i'm not sure about. its sort of in the wait and see area for me but i DO agree that points not spent in list building should've been awarded to the opponent since the beginning and its good they've finally gotten there. It's weird they are doing the 12 turn thing when we already had 75 minute games. i have no clue what they were thinking with that. ban list is just hyperspace.
Unfortunately it feels like once they run out of FFG stuff there won't be new plastic for quite a while but the scenario stuff hopefully will please and there are so many 1.0 ships sorely in need of a 2.0 reprint that it doesn't feel as bad to me as the armada announcement did.
Nah quickdraw is fine cuz it's deal a facedown damage card not take a damage so it can't trigger her ability. you mentioned N-1 anakin but he doesn't have a force slot so gotta stick with y-wing.
I am pretty excited for this pack even if we'll have to use bases from a different ship for the whisper to get arc lines.
Malice pairs really well with kylo's ability. since damage is dealt individually he can flip each one to crit if he has the force and bullseye giving more chance to get that force back. and even without the bulleye it lets him push crits through.
I can see compassion being used on beefy ships like rey or leia in the falcon but its usefulness really depends on the enemy getting crits through on your other ships and at that point why not just focus on the big target...
It's babu's text that is giving the tokens. and i wouldn't call it worse that you miss out on the rotate for stress because you also get to choose the direction to move or you may choose to not move at all.
Yeah I'm pretty much on the exact page as you on AMG at this point. I've, for a while, considered the fact they STILL haven't done anything about their website pretty worrying. they've fire the developers and announced armada's stagnation (no no the sky is not falling. Trust us... rolling my eyes). Then there' the point they refuse to acknowledge the error with the whisper bases and give any sort of assurance they'll have a solution for it. I'm a diehard pessimist and things aren't looking good.
Well there's this that's just the whisper interceptor but i imagine that's too similar to the /sf
Yeah, the whisper will be cool. it's a shame they printed the bases wrong though lol.
Whirlwind seems pretty good
