X-Wing has been around since 2012. To solve a number of rules and balance challenges and take the game in a fresh direction, FFG has started from scratch with a new edition.
First Edition[]
X-Wing Miniature's original edition was released at Gen Con in 2012. You can visit its wiki here.
Its final expansion is Saw's Renegades, which provided a much-anticipated fix for T-65 X-Wings and U-Wings. It was also a dual-edition expansion, containing cards and components for both first and second edition.
Second Edition[]
This is the wiki for the Second Edition, which was revealed on May 1, 2018. Second Edition has rewritten the basic rules of play, and most of the ability text on pilot, upgrade, damage, and other cards. This edition introduced new mechanics such as Force Powers for many pilots, strengthened faction identity, and removed squad point costs from cards, relying instead on a phone app to build squadrons (allowing for frequent updates).
Second Edition also provides Conversion Kits, allowing players from first edition to bring the ships they already own over to the new edition.
