  • Hi Wazat! I really enjoy your thoughtful advice on X-Wing ships so I was wondering if you could give me some advice.  I currently don't have X-Wing 2.0 but I will get it in the near future (specifically the conversion kits because I already have a sizable amount of 1.0 ships). However, will I not be able to mix First Order Expanstions, Galactic Empire Expansions and Galactic Republic Expansions (even though they are all Imperial)?

    • Thanks! Was reading up online that there's increased uncertainty with FFG & future product releases for a lot of their licences including X-wing 2.0. See following link:

      stayontheleader.blogspot.com/2020/01/x-wings-going-through-changes-wave-6.html?m=1

I'm just gonna play it safe & pick-up 1.0 models & conversion kits for anything that hasn't even had a 2.0 announcement. 2020 releases are likely to be further delayed because of this damn virus situation.

    • That article was a good read.  Here's hoping the game remains healthy with these changes; I want to enjoy X-Wing for years to come.

I hope when the virus problem is over, x-wing enjoys a large revival!

  • Hey Wazat,

Thanks for correcting me on the contents of the Galactic Empire Conversion Kit. I meant to to talk with you sooner but you know life. I've been poring over this wiki for a week now and really enjoying it! So much so that my wife has said "what are you doing?", because I'm not on my phone this much. Anyways take it wasy brother. (No, I'm not going to say:'may the force be with you')

    • Thank you, I'm happy to help!

And if you happen to find an error like a misspelling or info missing from a page, you're very welcome to add it.  Fandom is a community-built wiki, so if you ever get the contributor's itch, we benefit from every addition.  ^_^

And if you're not interested in that, no worries.  I hope the wiki is helpful and makes the game a lot more fun.  And as always, we're happy to answer questions.

  • Hey Wazat, When you get a chance, would you add the Energy, Hardpoint and Team Icons from the font file? I started adding the Huge Ship upgrades and I want to get at least the energy image in there before I do too much. It looks like the hardpoint icon gets used in the huge ship damage cards. And there will be a diamond symbol (a command symbol, I think) but it's not in the font file yet.

  • Hey Wazat. Just want to say thanks for maintaining the wiki and especially for answering so many questions with such clarity. It’s made the transition to 2.0 so much smoother to have this resource. Keep up the great work.

  • Hey Wazat, I was wondering if you could recruit some volunteers for a special task over on the 1.0 wiki.

I have been working to add all pilots and upgrades from Saw's Renegades and the TIE Reaper packs, but I don't own the TIE Reaper so I can't add the missing items from that.

There are some minor fixes for a couple pilot pages too but I can fix that myself, I just need some pictures if someone has them please.

    Thanks for your time :)

    • If you want to know what's in the packs, the first place to turn is the unboxing videos, which are probably still on youtube etc.  That's often where we turned.

As for images, you might turn to one of the 1.0 squad builders.

      I hope that helps!

  • Hey there. I noticed that whenever I try to search for ships by key terms like 'stress token' or 'end phase' I get no results anymore. This didn't used to be the case. Any idea what's going on?

      Loading editor
    • Wikia/Fandom may be doing some changes to the site that have temporarily broken or disabled search.  I'd give it a few hours or a day and try it again.

You can also go to google.com and search the site like this "site:xwing-miniatures-second-edition.fandom.com stress token"

  • Hey Wazat,

I was thinking about adding a page about YASB as a alternative (and frankly better maintained) online tool for squad building. As a friend of mine is one of the two active authors I am at the source so to speak and could give some insight into the inner workings, abilities and limitations.

What is your oppinion on this?

      Loading editor
    • Sounds like a good idea to me.  Actually I'd like a Squad Building Apps page to cover Launch Bay and others too.

With the official FFG app listed at the bottom with little fanfare and lots of salt.  ;)

        Loading editor
    • OK, i just made a stub, mostly just listing some advantages I could come up with out of my head.

    • I think it would be a nice idea to make a comparison page on which we compare the functions of different squad builders in a table, so people can choose their favourite one.

btw.: I find it hillarious, that YASP is more up to date in terms of point costs, than the official FFG app...

  • Hey Wazat, The new list of points is out on the FFG website, but the points don't go into effect until July 10th. Should we go ahead and update the points (and hyperspace) now or wait until they are officially released in two weeks? My thought is that we add the hyperspace and points for all of the previously unreleased stuff (like the N-1) but don't update all of the other points and slot changes until the official release.

    • Done with all the points updates! I also cleaned up other things on the pages, like missing icons. We are set up until the next preview article releases stuff about Wave 5 (or Epic or Huge ships).

  • Hey, if you're not active on D&D4 Wiki any more, would you mind granting admin rights to someone you know? Or would you mind if I do it? Arikabeth seems pretty dedicated lately, for example. I wanted to give you a chance to speak up before I do anything rash. :) —Moviesign (talk) 20:13, May 22, 2019 (UTC)

    • I haven't been active on the D&D Wiki for several years.  Unfortunately my group utterly rejected 4th edition and wanted 3.5 and Pathfinder instead, which made me sad.

Go ahead and grant them admin rights (and maybe bureaucracy rights too).  I passed the batan to someone when I left (I don't remember who), but it sounds like they've moved on as well.

    • Yeah, 4th edition caused a huge problem on my wiki (years before I joined) because it was soooo different from the previous edition and especially slammed the Forgotten Realms with major changes to the setting. It took years to recover from that, but we're looking pretty good these days. :)

I have contacted Arlkabeth to see what they say about becoming an admin. Thanks for your input. —Moviesign (talk) 23:31, May 22, 2019 (UTC)
